One seriously injured after rollover crash before Edison Bridge in Fort Myers

Lee County, FL — One person has been seriously injured after a rollover crash in the southbound lanes just before the Edison Bridge in Fort Myers.

North Fort Myers Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 5:56 PM Friday evening.

The following information has been sourced from Fire & EMS radio communications. These details have not been independently confirmed by FMPD:

Paramedics report that an approximately 54 year old man was found "unresponsive and not breathing" behind the wheel of the pickup truck when they arrived.

He had pinpoint pupils and regained consciousness after being administered Narcan.

He was transported as a "Trauma Alert" to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

It is believed that he was suffering from a drug overdose when EMS crews arrived.

Two southbound lanes were shut down just before the Edison Bridge but have since reopened.

The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating.
