Lee County, FL — Over a dozen deputies, including Special Operations Unit operatives, are currently swarmed around a house along 9th Street SW and Ida Avenue N in Lehigh Acres.
Lehigh Acres Fire and Lee County EMS crews were dispatched to the scene at 11:52 AM Tuesday morning.
Neighbors say LCSO has been surrounding the house for several hours.
SOU operatives and armored vehicles are at the scene. At around 1:10 PM, multiple operatives in tactical gear could be seen making entry into the home through the front door.
A loudspeaker could also be heard saying "This is the Lee County Sheriff's Office. You have a warrant. Come out with your hands up" multiple times.
Initial reports indicate that a subject barricaded themselves in the home and sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound while hiding in the attic.
LCSO has not provided any details regarding the incident to the public or those living nearby.
The scene remains active as of 1:36 PM.
