Lee County, FL — A motorcyclist has died after colliding with an SUV at Leeland Heights Boulevard E and North Avenue in Lehigh Acres.
Lehigh Acres Fire crews responded to the call at 6:51 PM Monday evening.
The motorcyclist was transported to Lehigh Regional Medical Center with critical injuries and later pronounced dead.
Two people inside of the SUV sustained minor injuries and refused medical care.
This is the second fatal crash today in Lehigh Acres to involve a motorcyclist.
At around 8:30 AM this morning, Lehigh Acres fire crews responded to a crash between an SUV and a motorcycle at SR-82 and Alabama Rd S.
The 40-year-old Fort Myers man who was riding the motorcycle was traveling westbound on SR-82 when an SUV drove directly in front of him in an attempt to cross over onto Alabama Rd S from the eastbound lanes of SR-82.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
All lanes of Leeland Heights Blvd E are shut down between Bell Blvd to Maple Ave N.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
