Motorcyclist seriously injured after crash on US-41 in Fort Myers

Lee County, FL — A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after colliding with a vehicle at S Tamiami Trail and Briarcliff Road in Fort Myers.

San Carlos Park Fire, South Trail Fire, Iona McGregor Fire, and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 3:43 PM Monday afternoon.

The approximately 73-year-old male motorcyclist was reportedly pinned underneath the vehicle he collided with for about ten minutes.

He sustained serious injuries meeting "Trauma Alert" criteria and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

No other injuries were reported.

Southbound lanes of US-41 were previously blocked but have since reopened.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
