Lee County, FL — Fort Myers Police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place in the westbound lanes of Colonial Boulevard, west of Ortiz Avenue in Fort Myers.
Fort Myers Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 6:52 PM Sunday evening.
The FMPD has confirmed that the incident originated as a hit-and-run crash.
Following the crash, a shooting ensued, leaving one person dead.
The victim's identity and status of the investigation is currently unknown.
No arrests have been made yet, according to the FMPD.
Two westbound lanes of Colonial Blvd are shut down after Ortiz Ave.
