Collier County, FL — One person has died and five others have been seriously injured after an SUV drove through a parking lot and slammed into a building a 212 S 1st Street in Immokalee.
Immokalee Fire and Collier County EMS crews responded to the incident at 10:09 AM Friday morning.
A Level 1 MCI (Mass Casualty Incident) was declared due to the number of patients involved.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:32 AM.
An additional five patients, including a baby, sustained serious injuries meeting “Trauma Alert” criteria.
Two patients were transported by MedFlight to Gulf Coast Medical Center while three others were transported by EMS to local hospitals.
Northbound lanes of S 1st Street are blocked at this time.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
