Lee County, FL — At least one man has been taken into custody following a large disturbance in the parking lot of The Ranch at 2158 Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers.
FMPD was first spotted responding to the scene just after 1:40 AM Sunday morning.
When officers arrived, they observed a disturbance involving a large crowd of people and immediately requested additional units to assist.
Over a dozen officers responded to the scene and could be seen taking a man into custody.
At least two officers at the scene were armed with rifles.
The large crowd of people surrounding the area was quickly dispersed by police after officers drove around the parking lot with sirens activated.
Several people at the scene claimed that there was a shooting and that one person was deceased in the parking lot. This information is incorrect as no shots were ever fired and nobody involved in the incident sustained injuries.
The identity of the man or any charges he may be facing have not yet been made available.
The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating.
