Collier County, FL — Fire crews are actively battling a brush fire that sparked near the 110 mile marker on I-75 in North Naples.
North Collier Fire, Greater Naples Fire and Naples Fire Rescue crews responded to the incident at 2:58 PM Wednesday afternoon.
Winds drove the fire west towards the baseball fields and a preserve area at North Collier Fire Regional Park while also coming close to homes in the northern end of the Wilshire Lakes community.
A Collier County Sheriff’s Office helicopter along with a Florida Forest Service are actively conducting water drops.
Vanderbilt Beach Road is completely shutdown between Livingston Road and Oakes Boulevard.
As of 4:58 PM the fire is 6 acres in size and 60% contained.
No injuries have been reported.
