12:08 PM — The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed new details into the crash that left a woman dead in Lehigh Acres.
Troopers say the 39-year-old Saint James City woman was walking near the northbound outside lane edge line of Joel Blvd prior to the crash.
A white Chevrolet Traverse was also traveling north, north of E 16th St, on Joel Blvd when it fatally struck the woman.
The 34-year-old Lehigh Acres woman driving the SUV did not sustain any injuries, and troopers say the victim's next-of-kin has been notified.
FHP continues to investigate the crash.

Lee County, FL — A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a car at Joel Boulevard and E 16th Street in Lehigh Acres.
LCSO Deputies were investigating an unrelated crash when the pedestrian was struck around 6:30 AM Tuesday morning.
Lehigh Acres Fire crews pronounced one person dead on the scene at 6:38 AM.
No further details have been made available.
Northbound lanes of Joel Blvd are shut down and being diverted eastbound onto E 16th St.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
