One dead, eight injured after crash on Collier Blvd in Naples

The Florida Highway Patrol confirms a 29-year-old female from Ohio died after a golf cart she was riding on was rear-ended on Collier Boulevard.

Troopers say a golf cart, carrying 9 people, was traveling northbound on Collier Boulevard when an SUV driven by a 56-year-old Naples man also traveling northbound rear-ended the golf cart, causing it to overturn.

A third vehicle, driven by a 60-year-old Naples man, also traveling northbound, then struck the hood portion of the golf cart.

Troopers confirm the 40-year-old Ohio man driving the golf cart was seriously injured, while the other seven passengers suffered various injuries.

No further information could be released at this time but troopers say this crash is still under investigation.

Collier County, FL — One person has died and eight people have been injured, four of them seriously, including small children, after a crash involving multiple vehicles and a golf cart at Collier Boulevard just north of the Jolley Bridge in Naples.

Marco Island Fire, Greater Naples Fire and Collier County EMS responded to the incident at 10:22 PM Saturday night.

The incident was declared a Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) and prompted six ambulances to respond to the scene.

Four patient sustained injuries meeting “Trauma Alert” criteria. Three of them have been transported by MedFlight and LeeFlight to Gulf Coast Medical Center.

The other five patients have been transported to area hospitals.

Collier Boulevard is shutdown in both directions at this time.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
