The Florida Highway Patrol confirms Pascual Velasquez Reynoso, 20, of Fort Myers has been arrested on multiple charges after fleeing the scene of a crash on I-75 in North Naples Monday evening.

A witness told troopers they observed a silver Cadillac SUV traveling at approximately 120 MPH, weaving in and out of traffic before crashing into the back of a pickup truck near the 112 mile marker of I-75.

The SUV then fled the scene and went west on Immokalee Road and came to a stop near Airport-Pulling Road N. After clearing the accident scene on I-75 troopers responded to the location of the hit and run vehicle. An investigation determined the vehicle at that intersection was the same one involved in the incident on I-75.

Troopers then responded to NCH North Collier Hospital where Reynoso was located after being transported by EMS. Reynoso told deputies that he had a few drinks and wanted to kill himself.

Reynoso did not have a driver’s license and was identified by his Guatemalan ID card. Troopers observed Reynoso had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his mouth, bloodshot-watery eyes, and slurred speech.

Probable cause was established and Reynoso was taken into custody. Reynoso told troopers he drank six beers at a park and decide to drive around in his dad’s car. Reynoso agreed to a breathalyzer test which found his BAL to be 0.139.

Reynoso has been charged with failure to stop at a crash involving serious bodily injury, DUI with serious bodily injury to another, DUI with property damage, leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, DUI with breath alcohol of 0.08 or more, and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

Reynoso remains in the Naples Jail Center today.
