Lee County, FL — One person has died after a shooting at the Harbor Grand Apartments near 3000 Oasis Grand Boulevard in Fort Myers.
Fort Myers Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 8:52 AM Sunday morning.
Responding fire crews witnessed the suspect in a white shirt running behind the WINK News building immediately after the incident, prompting them to lockdown.
The suspect was later taken into custody.
Fire & EMS radio communications indicate that the approximately 25-year-old male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head in the boat trailer parking lot on Frierson St and was pronounced dead at 9:09 AM.
Several shell casings could be seen lying next to the victim in the boat trailer parking lot as well as the roundabout entrance to the south tower of Harbor Grand.
Initial reports also indicated that several people were shot on the fifth floor but no additional victims were located by police.
Frierson St is shut down between Oasis Way and Oasis Grand Blvd.
The scene remains active at this time.
The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating.
