26-year-old man dead after crash on Old 41 in Bonita Springs

9:00 AM — The Florida Highway Patrol has provided an update detailing the crash that left a 26-year-old Bonita Springs man dead on Old 41 Rd Friday afternoon.

The crash involved a Ford F-150 pickup truck and a flatbed tow truck.

Both vehicles were traveling north on Old 41 Road, south of Channel 30 Drive. The pickup truck was directly behind the tow truck.

As the tow truck began to slow to turn right on Channel 30 Drive, the pickup truck failed to slow down and struck the back of the tow truck.

The driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tow truck did not sustain injuries.

FHP is continuing to investigate this crash.

Lee County, FL — One person is dead after a pickup truck rear-ended a tow truck in front of North Collier Collision at 16210 Old 41 Rd in Bonita Springs.

Bonita Springs Fire, North Collier Fire and Lee County EMS crews responded to the incident at 5:41 PM Friday afternoon.

One occupant in the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Old 41 Rd is completely shutdown.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
